Art Deco: 1910 - 1939

V&A Museum, London

Attracting 0.3 million visitors over six months in 2003, Art Deco was the most visited temporary exhibition ever held at the V&A - until Hollywood Costume in 2013. With furniture, graphics, textiles, fashion, architecture and interior design, the exhibition was a comprehensive review of this most accessible, yet complex, of styles. A reconstruction of Rulhmann’s room in the 1925 Paris exhibition; film footage of Josephine Baker’s banana dance; a reconstruction of the magnificent Strand Palace Hotel entrance; and the spectacular 1935 Auburn Boat-tail Speedster car, immersed visitors in the period with all its glamour and luxury.

"Casson Mann rose to the challenge of creating a truly 'wonder full', compelling and inspirational new design befitting the Hunterian's extraordinary collections. It has been a stimulating and rewarding process working with the Casson Mann team. Their creative spirit of enquiry is infectious and their attention to quality and the visitor's experience is second to none."

“The Casson Mann agency took up a huge challenge by conceiving a resolutely modern and creative scenography, perfectly meeting the requirements of our unique demand. A very successful sensory immersion in the heart of the Champagne region. A big thank you for your creative work and your follow-up from the beginning to the end of the project.”

Victor Canchon, Director of Pressoria (Aÿ-Champagne)
